Paint should form hard and durable surface.

It should give attractive appearance.

After completion of plastering work we have further adopted the following methods for painting.

PRIMER:

It is a preparatory coating materials before painting

It insures better adhesion of paint to the surface.

It increase paint durability and provides additional protection for the material being painted.

PUTTY:

It should be applied on walls after first primer coat is dried.

It will fill in minor cracks and surface imperfection.

It provides a protective sub-layer for the expensive paints.

As per requirement 1-2 coats of putty can be applied, but do all the previous coat to dry before applying subsequent coat.

SAND PAPER:

It is produced in a range of grid size and is used to remove material from

Surface either to make them smoother, to remove a layer of materials or some time to make the surface rougher.

GRADES OF SAND PAPER

Coarse-grade sandpaper has a grit of 40 to 80, medium –grade has 100 to 120, and fine grade has 150 to 220.

Coarse-grade paper is used to scratch away larger imperfection ,and finer grade are used  in the last stages of details

Grit can be high as 600, but extra fine sandpaper is not always necessary.
