FIRE SYSTEM AT RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

CAUSES OF FIRE-
·        Faulty electrical equipment or wiring.
·        Poor housekeeping.
·        Over loaded electrical system.
·        Over heating of equipment or servers.
·        Careless handling of fire like disposal cigarettes naked flamed, inflammable materials etc
·        Spontaneous combustion (sun / direct heat)

Pump system
·        Whole system operate from MCCB (Main Current Circuit Board )
·        Two system are –
·        Sprinkler
·        Hydrant
·        In sprinkler system two pumps are operated - 

·        Main pump -110 kv ,hp -150
·        Jockey pump- 7.5 kv, hp- 10
·        Diesel pump is provided for emergency condition
·        Jockey maintains pressure in system if required.
·        1 kg pressure puss water at 10 meter height.
·        At top of building it necessary to maintain 2.5 kg pressure.
·        Booster pump is provided at top to maintain hydrant system pressure.


SPRINKLER SYSTEM:-
                   Sprinklers are provided in inner sides of building. If temperature rise up to 670 C ,then sprinkler is on. The main objective of the sprinkler is to maintain temperature of the structure cool. Each sprinkler cover 3 meter area around it.

Ø  Types of sprinkler:-
·        side wall sprinkler
·        upright sprinkler
·        pendent sprinkler.
HYDRANT SYSTEM:-
·        Hydrant system is provided for extinguish the fire. In hydrant system 15 meters hose with nozzle is provided, that connect to hydrant valve.
·        The hydrant is kept on guest staircase each floor.
·        Jet water will go upto 50 to 60 feet.
·        15 meter hose reel also connected to the hydrant on each floor.

ALARM SYSTEM WORK :-
Ø  fire alarm system operated from fire alarm panel.
Ø  In fire alarm panel there is a six loop of smoke detector.
Ø  In each loop 125 detector is can be connected.
Ø  Each detector is install at a distance of 7 meter.
Ø  MCP (Manual Call Point) is provided near to the staircase and door.
Ø  Example :
If lobby catches fire then detector detect the smoke, then out of six loops, firsts loop is activated, after that control relay module is activated. Then public address system is active, it alert all the peoples from sound system.


CLASSIFICATION OF FIRE:-
Ø CLASS ‘A’-  Solid Fire  -  Wood
Ø CLASS ‘B’-  Liquid Fire -  Petrol
Ø CLASS ‘C’-  Gas Fire     -  Methen
Ø CLASS ‘D’ – Metal fire -  Magnesium
Ø CLASS ‘E’ – Electrical fire.
TYPES OF EXTINGUISHER:-
1.     Water type extinguisher.
2.     COtype extinguisher.
3.     DCP type extinguisher.
4.     Soda acid extinguisher.

5.     Fome type extinguisher.
